Mather Hospital and Surgeon of Excellence, Dr. Arif Ahmad have been designated as an Epicenter in Robotic Bariatric Surgery by Intuitive Surgical, manufacturers of the DaVinci® surgical robotic system. An Epicenter serves as a model for robotic surgery and is considered a state-of-the-art facility with a surgeon who is a proven expert in his or her field. This is the first Epicenter on Long Island.
