His dedication to quality has also led to the development of an SRC-accredited Center of Excellence in Urology at An-Najah National University Hospital (NNUH) in Palestine, where he serves as Director of Urology.

Dr. Abushamma’s passion for urology began during medical school, where he discovered a specialty unlike any other.
“During medical school, I was exposed to a wide variety of urological conditions and treatment modalities, and I quickly realized that urology offers a unique combination of medicine, surgery, innovation, and long-term patient care. What attracted me most was the diversity of the specialty. In a single career, you can be involved in outpatient care, minimally invasive procedures, endoluminal endourology, reconstructive surgery, laparoscopic surgery, and robotic surgery. Few specialties provide such a broad spectrum of clinical and technical experiences,” notes Dr. Abushamma.
He further explains, “Urology continuously evolves with advances in technology and surgical techniques, allowing physicians to develop a diverse skill set while making a meaningful impact on patient’s quality of life. That combination of innovation, technical excellence, and patient-centered care is what inspired me to pursue urology and continues to motivate me every day.”
That passion has fueled a decade long career dedicated to embracing innovation while never losing sight of what matters most—the patient.

Having experienced professionals evaluate our systems, outcomes, and processes helps ensure that we are delivering the highest level of care while identifying opportunities for further improvement.
