Overview

Founded in 2003, Surgical Review Corporation (SRC) is an independent healthcare quality organization and the leading administrator of center of excellence (COE) programs for surgical specialties.

Initially focused on bariatric and metabolic surgery, SRC expanded into other specialties and has emerged as an internationally recognized healthcare organization. All of the COE programs that SRC administers are focused on improving the quality of surgical care worldwide.

SRC administers several COE programs for the bariatric and metabolic surgical specialty. The organization manages them on behalf of societies in Brazil, India and Mexico as well as its own international program for hospitals and surgeons located outside of these countries. SRC was also selected by the AAGL to administer the Center of Excellence in Minimally Invasive Gynecology (COEMIG) program for hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. The COEMIG designation delivers on the AAGL’s commitment to advance minimally invasive gynecology worldwide.

In 2007, SRC developed BOLD™, a longitudinal outcomes database to support COE program compliance and quality improvement in patient care. It is now the world’s largest and most comprehensive repository of clinical bariatric surgery patient information, with data from more than 450,000 patients.
